5 best fashion museums to visit

www.myparisstyle.com
I can’t say that I am a museum-goer, but when travelling around Europe, I always try to visit fashion museums, an interesting way to understand other people’s culture and history.
If you also include fashion museums in your agenda while travelling, here is my list of 5 fashion museums that are worth visiting.

1. The Musée Galliera, Paris
2. Musée des Arts Décoratifs, Paris
3. Victoria and Albert Museum, London
4. Gucci Museum, Florence
5. Salvatore Ferragamo Museum, Florence

1. The Musée Galliera, formally known as the Musée de la Mode de la Ville de Paris, Paris
It is a museum of fashion and fashion history that unfortunately has no permanent collection but temporary exhibitions.
The last exposition that I’ve seen there is called ‘A Century Of Condé Nast Fashion Photography’  (Un siécle de photographie de mode chez Condé Nast) which is still go on.

2. Musée des Arts Décoratifs, Paris

There are always good fashion exhibitions held in the museum. The one that impressed me was the exhibition of Van Cleef & Arpels that was held some time ago.

3. Victoria and Albert Museum, London

Being the world's largest museum of decorative arts and design, the museum houses a permanent collection of over 4.5 million objects which is rare for the museums of this kind. Moreover, there are constantly interesting temporary exhibitions that I never miss when I come to London.

4. Gucci Museum, Florence

5. Salvatore Ferragamo Museum, Florence

During my recent trip to Italy, I spend half of my day visiting 2 famous fashion museums: Gucci Museum and Salvatore Ferragamo Museum.  Different style and design, different brand history, but one thing is common: "Made in Italy".
