Romantic getaway

I’ve never visited so many châteaux in my life as I’ve done for 2 years in France. Before coming to France, I’ve always imagined châteaux to look like Château de Versailles or Châteaux in the Loire Valley. Actually, in French a word château also refers to a country house of nobility (or that used to belong to nobility). Thus, today a lot of historic châteaux have been converted into beautiful hotels with wellness centres, restaurants, golf and many other facilities. I always like the idea of staying in a place with a history that has an authentic design. As you remember,  I’ve already taken you to Château  de Périgny where I stayed during my trip to Poitiers. So today, I show you a few photos of a charming Château Villiers Le Mahieu that was my romantic summer getaway.
