I was very happy to have a one month vocation this summer. I didn’t have any intention to stay in Paris since all my friends were on holidays abroad, and frankly there are only tourists in Paris as real Parisians spend their holidays in Province. I am not a real Parisian but I didn’t miss the chance to visit Provence-Alpes-Cote d'Azur. What could be better than a week in Nice + trip to Cannes, Antibes and luxury Monaco?...
So, let's start the journey by visiting Nice.
How to get there?
By train: check www.voyages-sncf.com
By plane: there are many companies that fly to Nice such as AirFrance, Aeroflot, Easyjet, Lufthansa and so on.
Where to stay?
I stayed in a cozy Hotel Esprit d’Azur and was very satisfied with it!
Great location: next to Old Nice, beach, port, restaurants and shopping centre.
Friendly staff: will advise you what to visit, where to eat and spend your time.
Great value for money!
Where to eat?
Here are a few good restaurants and brasseries tested in Nice.
· * L’Horloge restaurant (Great service, delicious food, reasonable prices)
· * MercureNice Promenade des Anglais (Great view, but a little bit expensive, 20 euro for salad!)
· * Les Pecheures (Tasty fish food)
* Restaurant
Le Gaglio (ideal for lunch with a 2 course menu for 17 euro)
What to do?
1. Visit the
Castle Hill, the city’s original site that boasted a reputedly impregnable
citadel that was entirely dismantled by the soldiers of the French King Louis
XIV in 1706.
2. Relax on
a beach
3. Have a
stroll along promenade des Anglais
4. Buy
souvenirs in local shops in Old Nice.
5. Visit
Monaco which is just 20 minutes away by train or 1 hour by bus (for only 1.5 euro).
To be
continued…
